And if a friend goes near you when you're just about to get at it, kindly explain that your parts are "jealous, sorry", and/or glare at them. How dare they think you might want to talk to someone other than yourself!
On a serious note... I get tired of it too. I get tired of feeling like a little kid when friends with SOs take their SOs along, and the SO glares at me the whole time. I get tired of waving to guys I know, only to have their girlfriends give me Glares of Death. I get tired of reading magazine articles that explain to me, patronizingly, how being single means you have to learn to be alone, because nobody's really going to want to spend time with you unless they're also single. (One article I read, on MSN incidentally, actually said things to the effect of, "order pizza for yourself" and "take lots of long walks.")
Couples DO have a right to hug and hold hands, but when it gets to the point where they're making out, and/or isolating those with them, it's aggravating.
