My girlfriend bought me her CD as a joke because I liked a few of the radio songs. After listening, I decided the album is a conceptual piece about western culture's obsession with excess, vanity and fame (through the most ironic format possible).
Sounds like reading too much into it, but there's one track on there called Dance In The Dark about plastic surgery that made it hard to miss/ignore. I'm always down for hilarious satire.
That sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out. I kind of wrote her off as just an extremely well formulated pop act, but I'm starting to see she has a lot of real talent and charisma. I don't think I'm entranced enough yet to buy a cd, but she's a lot more refreshing than typical pop at least.
