Been there, done that, its own way.

Seller wanted a $5000 inspection contingency exemption PLUS certain major items PLUS wanted me to draw up the "certain major items" list. I needed a few days to calm down plus legal advice of "Seller doesn't want to sell TO YOU." Then I said no.

It sucked a lot all the same.

When the seller won't negotiate in good faith, it's always better to walk.

Just hard because this is really the first house we've seen out of all the houses we've seen last summer and this summer that we actually liked enough to say, "Hey, we could live here!" and put in an offer. And yes, I know that ultimately, we're in a better place NOT dealing with this guy, but still.... Ugh.

Happy belated birthday!

Just curious, was the barbecue place you went to the one in Bowie Town Center? I've never tried that one.

Thanks, Brion! Not sure which place you're referring to, but we went to a place called KBQ that was sort of between Bowie and Glendale, in a new-ish shopping center/sub-division. The place had come well-reviewed and recommended, but we thought the smoke flavor tasted like it came from lighter fluid. And, the next day it didn't quite agree with us.
