Sorry about the midterm. I hate not doing as well as I want to. :(

And I say screw intellectual-type books! I have a creative writing degree and they're all really snobby about genre books and it drove me crazy. I say go for the book you want and ignore them if they find it strange. :D

LOL, so you're saying to go for the Harry Potter? :D My copies are getting a bit worn, especially my OotP...

Yeah, so are mine. Especially since I've lent them out to several people. And read them over and over and over....

But, yeah, I say go for a book you really love. At least, that's what I'd do. :)

I'll think about it, but there's something disconcerting about displaying an award on a Harry Potter book. Plus, I'm likely to ruin it by reading it too much :D

hahaha, say Harry Potter. Maybe Fountain Head or something Shakespeare? I don't know is Jane Austen smartish? :D

oooh Shakespeare maybe. I'm fond of some of the plays I suppose, but definitely not the fountain head. I think I tried to read that book on five separate occasions (and failed every single time). I also (to my great shame) have not read anything Jane Austen. I kind of suck at reading outside of what I do for school. You know these other kids are going to ask for things like Newton's Principia Mathematica and other such nerdy things. *sigh* I never fit in :(

haha, I don't mind random so much. A buffy choose your fate book would amuse me a lot too... people would wonder if I was being deeply philosophical by saying that learning through books allows me to choose my future or some bs like that :) Just out of curiosity, how did you find my lj?

If you're worried about damaging it because you're going to read it too much, have them get you a leatherbound something. Those tend to hold up rather well. It will be more a display thing than anything, right? Get Shakespeare. Or a book of collected poetry, with Byron and Donne.

If it were me, I would choose something really obscure that I'd been wanting for a long time. Something that maybe only someone with the school's resources could get. :)

Ah, that's a good suggestion, but unfortunately I'm limited to 40 bucks and I have to place the book on hold at the school's bookstore (so the must have it in stock presumably). Perhaps I will get a shakespeare as you suggested

Also, I LOVE your icon :) It's hilarious.

Thanks! Feel free to lift it. I only use these things for a short time before I will switch out to something else. :)

Well, you could get something nifty for $40. Make sure you let us know what you get.
