I seem to remember another poem that focused on hands... this is a nice counterpart.

This poem is honestly who I strive to be. It's how I saw myself in days past.

Losing everything I owned, losing Kaelan, losing my father, losing Elsa...all compiled with my cancer struggle and my constant battle to keep my head above water financially...well, life really slapped the shit out of my faith.

I spent a great deal of time reading atheist books, and truly embracing the concept that the 'sky bully/bullies are mythology and nothing more'. (To quote Joss Whedon)

But in my heart it is not what I want to believe. And my night with Missy...the way she needed me and the way my life of training just took over, it affirmed for me that if nothing else...life itself is a miracle.

And as faith goes, that's a good place to build from.
