i need good general get-to-know-you questions to ask my brother and sister-in law so i have some idea of what to get them for gifts, but i also need the questions to be specific enough that they can answer them because 'favorite tv show' generated the answer 'whatever we get on netflix'

thats tough without at least knowing a little bit about them. how old are they? do they have careers? maybe then i could help more?

the question i always like is
if you could only own five cds/albums/etc what would they be (by asking five you're less likely to get an answer of "well i cant choose")
or if you could take a trip somewhere where would you go and why

they're late 30s. like to drink. matt's bro is a freelance writer and reviews a lot of books. his wife works for a software company, but she's been sick for the past month and a half and i've been trying to send care packages, but it's hard when you don't know them that well.
