It's strange, how looking through my friends list, everyone seems rather downcast or is having crap happen to them. It made me really sad, to see so many of my friends having so much bullshit happen at the same time

yikes. I'm really sorry to hear about your (and your mom's!) experience with that nutcase. You could maybe inform the police of what's been happening, and if ask them if there's anything that can be done (how closely do your mom and him work together? I mean, would it be alright if they were to never ever see or talk to each other again? Or do they collaborate in the workplace in some way, where communication between them is necessary?). I dont know if this would be the appropriate place - but a restraining order of some sort may be what's needed?

I tried, but a "physical threat" needs to have occured before someone can take out a restraining order.

Lie and say there was one ;) (verbal so you cant have any proof for it).

Or have your mom provoke one out of him, I mean I dont know if that's necessarily a good thing (it may really freak her out and all that), but it seems like a good idea if you can take action afterwards! Cuz if he'll say it with some provocation, he may just as well say it at some point without some (or with provocation that you're mom will give unknowingly, like oh i dont know, going off and living her life with a romantic interest of her choice!). So she could ask 'and if I do go out with someone else, just WHAT will you do??' and see what he says.

I dont know....just shooting ideas out - brainstorming of sorts. Hopefully you'll find the best solution though, if need be.
