Summary: Zuko contemplates the changes that have taken place in his life.

Silently he looked over the area, his lips set in a straight line. He scrubbed at the "leaf-juice" pots, ignoring the loudness of his uncle's tea-shop. To think, at one time he had been a prince, that at one time he had everything that he had ever wanted right there in his hands and he had wasted it. And for what? For his loud mouth, and then for his fear of his father and then for his and his nation's pride thinly veiled as honor.

He quietly rung out a rag and moved to wipe down the counters and then to the tables. His uncle was sitting with a small girl, her head downturned and her voice quiet. He stared, startled at her words. Had he seen her before? He couldn't recall.

"I couldn't stand it at my old home; I didn't have even a whisper of freedom. They treated me as though I was a waste of space and I hate it!"

"At least they loved you" More than he could say for himself. Zuko scoffed, looking down his nose at her, a habit he had yet to rid himself of.

She glared up at him, a little pout on her lips.

"Shut up!"

He rolled his eyes.

"Go home, twerp"
