Simple truths
Everything that has a beginning has an end.
A very matter of fact statement, direct, and something that is so obvious that it never occured to anyone until they heard. Makes it all the more catchy.
However, if you really think of it, there is another truth that is just as obvious and equally plain.

Anything that, in happening, causes something else to happen, causes something to happen.
Anything that, in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again.
It doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order, though.
