You must love all the Řs and řs, yeah? :[ I'm not a native of the Czech Republic, but my Great-grandmother's family came from the country when it was called Bohemia. It's fun to see others who make posts with bits of Czech included. :}

My mother's family came from the south-eastern part of the country, Moravia. Unfortunately, used to be controlled by Austria during that whole episode of Austrian-Hungarian Empire :P, and one thing I am told is that they would become very upset when people thought they were austrian. Then, another part of that family is Slovak, but it wouldn't be nice to consider them my czech relatives as well, they have their own customs and language as well, and good reason for becoming their own country again in 1993.
I am teaching myself as best as I can the language, and making as much progress with the little amount of information I have.
There is an awesome czech-enlgish langauge community on LJ called 'podje me', I would recommend checking into that.
Indeed, it is fun to find little glimmers of posts. : )
