Bah. My model badly overestimates an important parameter of gadgets (you might even say a "critical" parameter) so for any given real world system, my model reports it as barely functional at best. I'm trying to improve it, but that involves using a better neutron diffusion theory, hence my ploughing through papers on the subject.

Oh well, it keeps me entertained.
