The Gift by Alison Croggon. "This is a fantasy book, with magic, sword fighting, loves, hate, deaths, lives, friends, traitors, tears and joy. This is a dark story, with more sadness than happiness. The chemistry between Maerad and Cadvan works extremely well. In the dark and doomed days, it is the humans fate which will bring joy and humanity. This is an extremely compelling story and I can't wait to read the next installment, "The Riddle".

Clone by Malcolm Rose. "Patrick Finch wants to clone a human being. He is admired by a few, hated by many for his single-mined mission - never mind the ethics or the biological horrors, never mind his family… Then Jordan, Patrick’s son, meets Maynard. He’s a young man with a terrible burden. It’s up to him to change the course of history - the fate of the human race depends on it. But Maynard knows that if he alters the future, he could sacrifice his place in it."
Hope that gives you some idea of what they're like. I love these books, check them out when you can.

Ooooh these both sound really good! I want to go out and buy The Gift right now LOL. Hopefully my local bookstore has them...I looked them both up on online though, and there are copies on sale on a couple of my fave booksites so I guess I'll buy them there if all else fails. For some reason Clone by Malcolm Rose is really expensive on Amazon it's $66.95 - but on Alibris it's only $12.30 which is weird lol. But I'll definitely try to check these two out, thanks! :)

You're welcome. As for Clone, I got for about $9 AU from a bargain book store so I reckon $12 is a pretty good price. It being $66 is just plain odd. :D

I have a feeling the book is out of print...that's normally the reason for Amazon selling books for high prices, most books on Amazon sell for around $7 (paperback)...

I found your book on Amazon & ordered it...in one of the reviews they said it was 'darkly humorous' lol. And apparently they now have only one copy left in stock...

Surprised to see that. The review sounds about right.
Sorry about yesterday, my pc turned off by itself due to a problem with the outlet.

Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker co-authored an amazing book called House. :D

LOL it's funny because when I was younger (like 12), I read all of Frank Peretti The Cooper Kids Adventure Series. I was wondering why the name sounded familiar...then I googled it and found out why! I've never heard of House so I'll look into it...

i had a post up for a few days before i deleted the journal (long boring story), sorry you missed it. i had made a notice of this account, and a few ppl who wanted to stay in touch added this account to their flists.

i won't update as often, i'm trying to concentrate on books and art at the moment, but i want to stay in touch, so i've added you. ;)
