Errrr, personally I'd just give it to N&B as is. Maybe they have an open relationship? Maybe he's cheating and she doesn't know.....I wouldn't be comfortable with being the one to break the news. Not being close, I wouldn't feel that it's *my* place personally.

Well, and most likely, he'd get the card, anyway, since I generally run into him more often. I wouldn't break the news, but if they did actually break up, there's some awkward going on there since apparently Ben and I didn't notice.

If I thought I'd smelled her cooking I'd just pretend to have no idea.....

If they both helped with the cat, then both deserve the card. What they're doing on the couch (or the chandelier) is immaterial.

OTOH if B slammed out, baggage in hand, I'd do up a new card.

As far as I know, only he actually does anything with the cats. The "N & B" is because I generally thought they came as a unit (the same way Xmas cards are addressed to both halves of a couple, even if one is only particularly friends with one half).

The problem is that I don't know if B slammed out, baggage in hand, or anything of the sort. There's just . . . someone else. (They're both still using a picture of both of them on Facebook, for example.) I may have to be more observant over the next few days, in a non-creepy sort of way.

How about "To awesome neighbors" or some such?

how about cut the value of the card in half and buy two cards, one for each?

at the least, that avoids them having to debate (argue, fight, dicuss) what to use it on.

my guess is that he's cheating but cheaters who take care of cats still deserve target gift cards. hey, at least they didn't do it in the bed. i would play dumb and do just what you would do if you hadn't heard anything.

If it's just the one of them taking care of the cats, I would probably go to the hassle of getting another card and just addressing it to that one person. That way you thank your cat sitter without -any fear whatsoever- about opening a can of worms. ...Or maybe even ignore the "To" field and just address it as, "Thanks for watching our cats!" or even a generic "Good neighbors". *shrug*
