I think the whole "female actor" thing is the stupidest thing to come along in a long time. What's wrong with "actress?" It means female actor for gosh sake! If you're a feminist, WHY would you want to abandon a word that's all your own? What's next, "male actress" for cross gendered people or something? How about calling women "female men?" Yeah, that would be great. I can just see how complicated introductions could get:

Guy #1 - "Hi, I'm Bob, and this is my lovely female boyfriend Jennifer."
Guy #2 - (thinking to himself) "Hmm, does that mean that Jennifer is actually a guy dressed up as a woman? Or does it mean that she.. I mean he.. uh, or do I? Jennifer could be a 'man trapped in a woman's body'... But does that mean that Bob is gay??" Gosh, the possibilities are endless!

::nods::

People get so caught up in all this "equality" bs that they start making the separations more noticeable. It's so dumb.

the basis of your discussion is the patriarchal content in language...language created by men fosters male values and defines all humons by these values...there are no actress' only actors....defining an identity or activity with gender based language would be perfectly fine in an equatable world......when we talk to wimmin we often use the terms "girls" and "you guys"....how would men respond to being called "gals", as when coaches or superiors call subordinates "ladies"...just a thought...thanks for the opportunity to express myself

did you once write a story about a man killing a woman after they had sex?
if so, you are who i think you are.
