Really smart.
Really friggen smart.
And Thor being "less intelligent" then Loki? Means he's actually super smart, compared to the Midgardians, anyway.
If only it wasn't for that pesky language barrier (every time he tries to explain it properly, Allspeak translates it into "wibbly wobby balls of stuff"), the fact that Midgardians literally cannot perceive the world the same way as Asgardians can (Asgardians see more of the color spectrum, can see the way the universe is woven together I'm sorry I mean string theory), etc.
Crack? :D
tl;dr Thor, compared to Loki, isn't that smart. Thor, compared to Midgardians, is actually a friggen supergenius. Except it's hard for him to communicate properly with people, especially when Allspeak is translating his words into Midgardian and no that's ( ... )

He’s listening idly to Bruce attempting to explain string theory to Thor and Steve. Steve’s just sitting there with that furrow in the middle of his brow that means he’s trying really hard, and Thor’s frowning too, but it’s a different sort of frown, one Tony can’t place. He asks questions, and so does Steve, but Thor’s are less ‘huh?’ and more ‘please rephrase that so I may understand it better.’
And that’s when Tony realizes Thor already knows about string theory.
Now, okay, Jane Foster is his girlfriend, that’s not too hard to believe, but he doesn’t talk like someone who has already been acquainted with an Earth theory and is hearing it again. He sounds more like someone who is being presented with a concept he’s already familiar with in vastly different terms.
Tony’s had that problem once. Yinsen’s English was very good, but occasionally Tony would say something and Yinsen would give him that little half smile and tell Stark to say it again in a different way, as though used to navigating silly ( ... )
