I've got a question: I'm pretty much as gen a writer as you will ever find and seem to be pretty much incapable of writing pairing fic beyond having it as a background detail. Is there any way I can sign up as a gen writer? I don't mind remixing a fic with a pairing, but I know some people don't like genfic and it's unlikely I'd manage to produce anything but gen.

Yeah, just put in your sign up, under pairings you don't want to write, that you prefer gen. I'll make sure you get matched up with someone else who skews that way.

What are the minimum requirements for art?

Three finished pieces with enough detail to be able to tell what's going on (not sketches, or thumbnail sized). Assignments have already gone out for this round, but we'll probably hold a third round in the summer.
