AVENGERSGEN: ROUND 17

Feb 06, 2016 15:33

Hey all!

Since things are pretty slow around here, we won't be having a new round every month, but this post will serve as the active post until/if things get busier. The mods are still monitoring things, and we'll still be around, so this isn't to say that we've abanoned the comm and are shutting things down. It just seems a bit silly to keep ( Read more... )

Steve & Natasha, adoption, kidfic anonymous May 18 2016, 00:42:13 UTC
Set in an AU or unspecified future period in which things have cooled down from Civil War and everybody's friends again:

So Steve and Natasha both want kids but feel like it's out of reach for them (Natasha because she physically can't, Steve because of his difficulty forming relationships post-defrosting and being Married To The Job), and neither of them are comfortable with the prospect of single parenthood because of the hazards of the superhero lifestyle. So they adopt together (either proper adoption or "rescued a clone kid from a top secret genetics lab" adoption).

Just platonic life partners Steve & Nat with their kid(s), and bonus points for the other heroes as eccentric honorary aunts & uncles, Nick Fury as grumpy spy grandpa, etc.

Crossover: Elemental Masters AU anonymous July 19 2016, 04:36:01 UTC
Superheroes with elemental magic! Can be a historical AU in the 19th or early 20th century like the books, or take the worldbuilding forward in time.

I've seen AUs for other fantasy conceits (daemons, fantasy creatures, Hogwarts, etc.), but not for anything based on Mercedes Lackey's Elemental Masters novels.

GEN, Steve, Avengers, de-aging and fluff anonymous November 4 2017, 03:59:09 UTC
Shortly after first Avengers movie (or after mass fix-its or what have you, the team's together either way). They're fighting some (magical?) enemy and Steve gets turned into a kid. A kid who is only just mastering speech. Who hasn't learned yet that his mother's tongue will get him in trouble throughout the neighborhood. Basically he's running all over the place and what little he does speak is like ~80% Irish with a dash of sing-songy mish-mashy language soup that bears only a passing resemblance to English he picked up from other tenants (immigrant families) in their apartment building. He's not at all shy about 'giving' the Avengers every word he knows ( ... )

This sounds...so good. I'd love to read it!

(I'd love to write it, for that matter. But I think I'm a bit rusty on my Avengers writing skills!)

Steve, Tony, are you SURE? anonymous November 4 2017, 18:58:34 UTC
Something happens so that Steve's relaxed, inhibitions are down (I would prefer them just being comfortable enough with each other, but...this is them), and he's just rant-rambling confusedly at Tony about how it just doesn't make sense: he can't see Howard with a family ( ... )

Basing it on something I suspect may (though probably won't) happen.

Infinity War happens, there's a climax and the only way to fix things/save reality is for one of the people close enough to do something that everyone assumes is a suicide run/potentially fate worse than death. While the others are distracted figuring out who, Steve just moves and gets it done. He (thinks he) knows the cost and it's not that he's suicidal, he just genuinely considers himself the most expendable of the group and there is no way that any of them are going to die or suffer if he has any chance at stopping it ( ... )
