i'm thinking about adding a third class to my summer schedule. i'm not sure if that's a good idea - it's attractive to get an extra three credit hours out of the way in a matter of 6 weeks. however, it means i'll be going four days a week instead of two. that sucks.
i need to update on all the events of the past week, but i'll take two hours to ( Read more... )

I hate when I can't fix everything for people I love too. I've taken to reading the articles on parenting that my firm sends around, even though I don't have any kids, because they remind me of stuff like how you can't control another person's happiness, it's up to them, and learning to overcome difficulties on their own helps them grow, and so forth. It reminds me to set some boundaries and not get too wrapped up with others' problems.

not really, it's all just anecdotal tidbits slapped together by the staff. but the one that got me was this story about a lady taking her kid to disney world and he had a wonderful time all day except for 5 minutes where he didn't get his way about something, and in the car going home she asked what he remembered most about the day and of course it was the 5 lousy minutes. she was starting to feel all guilty about it till she realized she couldn't control somebody else's feelings. given that i tend to remember "5 lousy minutes" as opposed to the whole rest of a great day, a lot myself, i kinda took a lesson from both sides of that story.
