Family Guy's Transphobic Mother's Day Episode

Family Guy an animated television series on Fox aired an extremely transphobic episode on Mother's Day. The episode called "Quagmire's Dad" was about a big life change for his father, a recognized Navy war hero veteran. The episode is filled with homophobic and transphobic language and judgment.

At first, I just thought it was lame that you were offended at Family Guy, a show that makes fun of everyone and everything pretty equally (and has for something like, 10 years, and you're just NOW getting to it?) But then I clicked over to your journal and realized you're just pretty much offended at everything. You must be a really super fun person to be around.

Did you actually watch the episode?

The characters who behave like assholes continue to be portrayed as assholes.

The character of Quagmire's father/Ida is portrayed in a positive light, of a war hero who was liked by everyone, but who was deeply unhappy with the sex of their body and decided to change it.

Quagmire is shown as originally having problems adjusting, but by the end of the episode accepts Ida for who she is and they are both happy.

I liked it.

I wish that there was a link to the episode so we could make our minds up for ourselves before showering FOX with our opinions.
