one step forward, two steps back

There is no such thing as writer's block.  I always have something to say, something in my "teeming brain" that needs to come out.  What we call writer's block is an inability to articulate the things in our cerebellums.  Each poem is blood from a stone.  I wrote something about elbows and ankles, because no one thinks that joints are sexy.  I have ( Read more... )

Honey, ever since the first moment I read a word you'd written, I have never had any doubt that you would be a successful writer. Maybe not in the monetary sense like Stephen King or anything, but you'll make your living from words. When words are your life then they're bound to become your livelihood as well. Just keep being quietly profound like you always have been and you'll work it all out. And please don't be depressed. This too shall pass.

you're a good writer. believe me. read mary robison's 'why did i ever?', jean rhys' 'good morning, midnight', anything by dawn powell--if they don't make you feel like you're better off, at least you're better off for having read great stuff (maybe? if you like that kind of thing?)
anyway, how did i get here? i was looking for a car service to get to the airport, and i wind up on a stranger's blog? how typical of me. how meandering.
your words caught me somehow, and i'm not easily caught.
everything IS going to be all right.
sincerely, laura lark
