I thought it would be a hard story to write, but the act of writing a perfect final afternoon for Illya was healing for me. Thank you for taking the time to let me know my story moved you.

Thank you! I've been gone from writing for so long that I didn't know if I was capable of putting a sentence together anymore. David's passing galvanized me; it felt important to honor his long and fulfilling life in some way. Giving Illya a truly perfect final day was my way of paying tribute to a life well-lived.

I'm glad it did. This was as well written and heartlet as any of your other pieces. It's nice to see you here again. Especially since St. Crispin has left us. :DD

Thank you- it’s good to know I can still put a coherent sentence together after all this time.

DMC’s passing wrenched our hearts. I want to imagine his last afternoon like the one in this story-a gentle passing filled with pleasant thoughts, and satisfaction for a life well lived.

Thank you so much for your kind words, and for encouraging me- it means a lot!
