We had a peaceful Thanksgiving, as our son had to work and couldn't be with us.
It was a rather smoky day here--over 50 fires burning in the area, all but one set by an arsonist. Such a sad loss. Conditions are very, very dry--there's been no rain for over a month--so the fires are proving difficult to contain. On Tuesday, visibility was less than a mile. We've had a RED air quality alert for several weeks, so no hiking or outdoor activity. A shame, since the Fall colors were gorgeous this year.
Hubby and I feel very lucky that the fires do not threaten our neighborhood, but I worry for people with respiratory ailments like COPD, children with asthma, and the elderly.
