My very new computer has been acting funny for the last several days. Any time it's left alone for more than 3 or 4 hours, I return to find a black screen with the following text

just this little bit tells me that your HD or cd rom or dvd drive or something like that is having a hard time coming back from either hibernate or sleep mode. make sure all drivers for the computer itself are up to date. if it's an hp, goto the hp site, etc...

since it comes up fine after a full boot, i doubt it is hte hardware. sounds more like a software issue.

also, if you have your computer set to hibernate, try changing that to sleep or just even lock. that might cure the issue all together.

For future reference, when you get a system with everything pre-installed, you usually need to create the boot disks yourself. There's usually an option to do so within the manufacturer's software bundled with the system.
