Fireworks, festivals, yukata - it's finally summer in Japan

It's festival season here in Japan! Everywhere I turn there are more festivals and fireworks and people walking around in yukata. I bought a yukata last Saturday (and an obi and a little traditional pouch, although I haven't gotten any geta yet - need to pick those up soon), and I'm planning on going to a festival on Saturday with a friend. Then ( Read more... )

Want me to get you one? Uniqlo has them for 3000 (about 30 bucks), and it includes the yukata itself plus the obi and the ties for underneath. Just tell me what color you want, and it can be a birthday/christmas present or something. I'm planning on coming home probably over new years so I can give it to you then.
I'll be posting a new blog soon with pictures from the bon-odori festival we went to on Saturday, as well as from when I was just trying on yukatas, so check that out for pictures ^.~

That would be so awesome ;_; I would worship you forever! Make sure to post pictures darnit! I check your blog all the time but it's never updated haha. I'm sure you're busy and tired with the two jobs. Which, by the way, I'm totally curious about. What exactly do you do at your hostess job? Serve drinks? Or is it more entertainment-esque? Bah, Crissy and I are settling into our new place and haven't managed to get internet access yet, so no skype until then.

Also, soon I plan to start subjecting Crissy to J-dramas. Bwhaha!

(Ps: You know what colors I like, blues, greens, maybe even pinks. I forget if they come in every color. <3)

Ooooo, festival....I was supposed to go to a big fair this past weekend but I didn't know the people very well so I decided to sit on my ass instead. Hopefully you go to all your events though. They sounds much cooler than fair rides and fried twinkies.

If you do go for the apartment, make sure you still get a big closet! It's a girl's necessity. Water, food, oxygen, shelter, and enough room for your clothes and shoes (which are also necessities).

Oh I know right! That's one of the first things I check for, haha. Take a cursory look around the room, determine it's a decent size, go "is there a closet?" Usually there are shoe cabinets in the entryways here, which is a feature I quite like.

I guess it's fair season there in america too! My parents are going up to some fair in ohio soon (going to visit some relatives at the same time). Hehe, I kind of wish I had some time to just sit on my ass! I've been so busy lately, it's ridiculous. That's another point in favor of moving, if I was in a more convenient location I could actually stop off at home sometimes instead of just having to hang around shinjuku and roppongi in between jobs.
