Putting up the lights last night I was in chuckvideo mode with my "Kill-O-Watt" meter and decided to check the watt usage my Christmas decorations will be consuming. I was a bit surprised to see each string of outdoor lights will take over 100 Watts. Along with all my other lights it will be well over 900 Watts to have the house all colorful ( Read more... )

Yup, amazing isn't it? My four strings of C9 bulbs draw 535 watts on the front of the house, and for comparison I strung four strings of the new LED style lights across the fence in the back - and they draw a total of 9 watts.

Aah but the price we pay to spread festive cheer across the land.

And did you wake up suddenly feeling exactly one year older this morning? Do you get to stay home this special day, or are they flying you out to some part of the planet?

Thanks for remembering. I have never felt younger and more energy than I know what to do with...Whew that was a lot of work I need a nap! LOL

Like you said you gotta spread some colorful cheer during the Holidays. I loved it as a kid and hope mine also enjoy it as well.

Hi there, I had you added as a friend awhile back but stopped using LJ for awhile because of a busy personal life. I'm back around and remembered your journal...I'd like to re-friend you again if that's okay with you. :] If you ever remembered seasidephirefly, that was me.

Sending holiday cheer,

Tiff

Welcome back. If I remember you were going to Ireland I believe. Is that where you have been? If so how was it?

Yes :) I went back in July, and then again in October. It was even more amazing than I thought. I love being there. I got to see a lot of places, do a lot of things [I stayed in Dublin primarily] and absorbed a lot of the culture which were the most important things to me. I have to get photos uploaded into this scrapbook, I'll make a post with a link to it when I do. :]

Thanks for the welcome back. I enjoyed reading your posts when I was more active! <3

Ireland would be a cool place to visit. I am sure with my new job I will get to see a lot of VERY cool places.

Glad you are back. I missed you while you were gone.
