Yes, I took those last night. I had to zoom in 4X because I was about 30 miles north of the cell. I took these from the roof of Dales house in North Phoenix. The Thunderstorm was over Sky Harbor Airport. If you look at the center of the picture just at the level of the terrain you will see 4 red lights in a row. That is South mountain just south of the airport.
Hopefully this week will produce some more opportunity for more of these shots. The valley is relatively flat so if there are thunderstorm cells somewhere in the valley all you need is a rooftop vantage point. The monsoon season produces independent cells so you can sit high and dry while watching the storms roll through the valley. It is very cool.
