Perhaps your lotion was so lovely and soothing that your subjective experience of the earthquake was somehow affected? ^_^

Which admittedly was way worse when I was living up on Weathertop as a kid, and we were without power for 2 weeks plus. No power equals no water, because the well can't pump it. Oh, and the roads were blocked by rockslides so we had to hike in and out. Not to mention the house, while structurally sound, was completely trashed.
So that's why earthquakes freak me out. I don't want to have to DEAL with having my life effectively picked up and shaken like a snowglobe. Scraping honey mixed with broken glass off a wood floor is something I'd like to experience only once in my life.
