Discuss how you got into Harry Potter 02. Your favorite book
Ultimately I think it's "Goblet of Fire". I love PS/SS for the way it drew me into Harry Potter's world, the combination of Roald Dahl, J.M. Barrie and Lewis Carroll that drew me in. I love "Prisoner of Azkaban" for being the best mystery and for really showing the potential the series had. I love OotP for not being afraid to dive into the darker side, to bring adult issues of politics, propaganda, betrayal, and really huge mistakes into the mix (one of my bigger disappointments with the series is that it jumped right back into the shallow end after that).
But GoF, while sprawling all over the place, gave us a much bigger view of the wizarding world, the cultures it had fostered, and was crammed full of action from the World Cup to the graveyard encounter. It was also the first book I read while getting into online fandom and I have lots of fond memories of trading reactions, speculations, and fanfic during that time.
