Am tired. Boss is napping. It is a quiet afternoon. The apartment goes well, I　suppose. I have been on a roach hunt with the kitten and have battled the kitchen-consuming maggots and have so far kept myself under control where the loud proto-humans are concerned. The heat wave has broken, somewhat, and I look forward to this Sunday with dr_mrow and ladymora

He's not toughing it out to look manly, even if that's how he's explaining it. The fact of the matter is, going to sick call makes you take time away from training, and you can end up graduating late because of it. I did our final 10 mile road march on a twisted knee that still sometimes gives me problems just to avoid being a "holdover".

The fact that he doesn't want to be a sick call ranger shows he's got the right attitude to push through this thing and that he definitely is a better man than the problems in his past would suggest.

Apparently he had an upper respiratory infection and pink eye in both eyes, both probably highly contagious. He had a doctor's note to excuse him. I know my brother is better than all that, but he didn't know that about himself. I am proud of him for his own sake.
