Estrella Death Flu

Feb 19, 2008 06:52

I have apparently caught some sort of viral throat thing. I'm taking my anit-viral medication in the hopes that that will give me an edge. Tuesdays are jam-packed with things that I have to make up if I miss them, but I don't think I should be around clients or other students today. The rest of me feels fine, it's just my throat. Hopefully it ( Read more... )

Y'know, I once caught a very nasty flu while watching ebenbrooks perform at an SCA thing. And we were only there for one evening!

Maybe there's something about SCA events and flu?

Or maybe they need to post a sign, "Ye who have plague, stay home and don't give it to other people?"

It's mysterious.

Actually, I don't know if this is the flu, but I doubt it since it's pretty confined to my throat.

Take a couple thousand people, deprive them of sleep, adequate food and water, stick them in the hot sun and freezing exposed nights, add some alcohol and lots of fire smoke, shake.

I don't think I got sick from anyone. I think my immunity was compromised by sub-optimal conditions and this is an opportunistic infection. We all have the right bacteria and viruses, all the time.

Plain old exposure can wipe me out pretty hard. Riding the motorcycle in cold conditions and insufficient insulation will wreck me for the next day, and that's without getting sick. (Of course, exposure was much less of an issue when I was fatter, and motorcycle riding is exceptionally rough.)

Gods, that was a muddy cold miserable war. I'm sorry to hear you're sick, though.

And I love the Arthur Dent animated avatar. Tea, DAMMIT! Puts the day I've been having somewhat into perspective ...

hugs hope you feel better.

BTW, you were not gentle to me, wink, you bruised both my knees. (small ones) Anyway, I loved it, but it was a bit too much. Next time we'll take it a little slower. wink The PT hit it with ultrasound on TUES and that was amazing. I walked for hours without any pain.

I'm sorry. I didn't think what I was doing was too rough at all, but since it was too much I probably won't do anything with that injury unless I know what your PT wants. Again, I'm really sorry. I hope I didn't put too much of a damper on your war.

hugs
