I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness. I was taught not to salute the flag, not to say the pledge of allegiance, and not to uphold my country over God. Years later I learned to think for myself and felt personally uncomfortable celebrating a country so full of corruption and hypocrisy

It's been so long since I've seen a post from you! The slight feeling of pride for my fellow citizens I'm having, is tempered, I'm afraid, with wondering of what's to come. But, all in all, this election has raised my hope to levels I haven't felt since before Ronnie Ray-Gun.
