Game Design Class

My group in this semester's game design class has settled on a game concept and design basics and I have the task of designing some of the player ships and their associated equipment.

My experiments began with a polymer clay, just to get a feel for the material:



The sketches came next, one of which has inspired my design of choice:



I've decided to start with a scarab-based design because its sun-rolling motif has practical value in our game design, while this site and another site serve as references.

We're meeting again tomorrow so, with hope, we'll make some real visual design progress then.
