[ The Dreamberry shows the cloudy sky; and then, tumbles wildly along the ground, showing dizzying shots of the grass and the sky again, before flopping upwards, showing the clouds once more. There's another grunt, a female's, and the Dreamberry goes spinning wildly a second time, landing face down in the grass ( Read more... )

[he was just walking through, still getting used to his surroundings. so imagine his surprise when he sees this girl with wings just lying there.]

...What are you trying to figure out?

[he waited until the Dragon Steed landed before giving it a light pat and mounting.]

Yes. However it is not that uncommon where I am from.

It is...

An astounding creature. [ She leaned forward a bit while in mid-air to peer better at the Dragon Steed; her position went almost horizontal. ] Does it bear a name?

[the Dragon Steed perks its head a bit and reaches out a bit.]

Noctis. His kind are called Dragon Steeds in my world.

May I touch him? [ She moved a bit closer, her wings giving a small flap as she hovered a touch nearer. ]

Yes, you may.

[well. now is as good as any a time to ask.]

Those wings...are they natural?

[ Gwendolyn reached forward, her hand slowly touching the creature gently on its long nose. The Princess tilted her head as she slowly pet it, before looking up at Tybalt. ]

Yes; they are real, indeed. Are... there no Valkyries where you hail from, Sir Tybalt?

No. This is the first I've heard of a...Valykrie, was it?

[the Dragon Steed twitches its ears a bit and gives a small "wuff" sound as it breathes warmly against her hand. just like its rider, the Dragon Steed was also fairly calm and cool...but it didn't seem to mind the bits of affection either.]

[ The Princess offered the faintest bit of a smile; a quirk of the lips. She pulled her hand away, looking to Tybalt. ]

I am surprised, though you have mentioned that the name Lord Odin also does not ring a bell. [ Gwendolyn rose a bit higher, backing up. ]

The Valkyrie are the maidens of Odin. We are his mightiest warriors... and... our job is to decide the victor of mortal battles down on earth. [ Not that she was immortal, by any means. ] It is out job to defend the heavens from evil.

[when she moves away, Tybalt gives the cue and the Dragon Steed stretches its wings before rising into he air a few feet, staying level with her.]

So your battles determine what happens to those below? [not sure if he really likes that idea, but he'll continue to listen.] How exactly do these battles affect the people?

Our own battles do nothing to affect the mortal realm. However...

The Valkyries, if they descend upon earth, watch over wars waged by mankind. Upon Odin's request, they will sway the battle in one way or another, depending upon his desires. Those warriors are brought to Heaven to prepare for Ragnarok.

...I try to stay out of human affairs. It should be up to whom is strongest, to survive the battle. That is how it works for us. There is no one to decide the victor but our own might.

[ Gwendolyn rose along with Tybalt. The Blue Bird was rushing after them, the Princess giving a powerful flap with her wings to gain more air. Her gather's skirts fluttered around her wings as she rose into the air. ]

As Commander of the Valkyri forces, my concern is the defense of Ragnanival.

I would be more inclined to agree with your view. It should be those engaged in their own battles who should determine the outcome, not some higher god.

But what is the Ragnanival?

The Kingdom of Heaven. The Land of the Gods. It is parallel to the Netherworld, where the Queen of the Dead resides.

[ The Princess glanced to Tybalt. ]

And yourself? What realm do you reside in?

[turning the Dragon Steed toward the direction they will be going.]

My "realm" would be the mortal one. However the place I hail from is called Neo Vorona.

[ The Valkyrie turned her body, moving her arms slightly to continue following him. She closed her eyes as she felt the wind ruffling against her. She wondered how things felt so real in a dream world. ]

Neo Vorona. [ She had never heard of it. ] ...What is it like?

[there's a moment where he doesn't speak before he finally answers.]

It is a large city that was once ruled by nobles and a tyrant, but now is in the hands of the people as it should have been long ago.
