How would you define the difference between revenge and justice?

Hmm... revenge is done to make YOU feel better, while justice is done to teach the other person a lesson?

Revenge is when you are the one who punishes the one who wronged you, and justice is when someone else does.

Revenge is personal: there's no saying whether the punishment will be equal to the crime since it relies solely on the emotional judgment of the one seeking revenge. Justice is more of taking a cold, outside look on the issue and deciding whether or not anyone should be punished and to what extent.

i think 404_error got it right: revenge is personal. it has nothing to do with right and wrong. it has to do with trying to change your mood by getting back at someone.

justice is doing what's right.
