Personal policy regarding interpersonal communications

I have decided that my personal policy going forward will be thus: I will not carry on any conversation or debate of a serious nature online either on LJ or IM except with a very limited chosen few. Those few amounting to less than 5 personal, long-time friends. Any conversations of a serious nature with me must be done either in email or face to ( Read more... )

that sounds like a really good policy to implement.. While I don't mind debating things like politics on line... or perceptions, etc etc.. personal matters especially can get very tricky...

For the record, I'm exceedingly difficult to piss off or offend. I also rarely assume that I know what someone meant. I'll generally ask flat out if I suspect something. I used to worry that that bluntness would offend people, but I guess that my personalty makes it do the opposite. *shrug*

I understand your feelings about LJ and internet in general. It really is nothing like the normal face to face 'safe' interactions you can have where you can see the nuances of what the intention of eachother is.
