- The sibs were talking about trying to have a shared seder menu, and one of the items my older bro's family wanted all of us to have was brisket. I concurred! I used all my coupon points at the store that sells kosher meat (but not the actual kosher store, Omnitsky's, because they are ridiculously priced) to buy a 3 lb. brisket. Staying at home for a year: I don't recommend it.
In the last year, my A1C has slowly increased, as has my weight. Neither of these things are truly surprising, and everyone (or at least the people I want to listen to) would say "take it easy on yourself, this past year has been crap-tastic, these things will happen," and yes, all that. I took a lunch-time trip to the store with the kosher section today, to get other stuff actually, and was greeted at the front by the Kosher for Passover section! Egads! Aunt Judy's "Unbelievable Brownies" - fudgey.
Preheat oven to 350.
Spray 11X7 brownie pan w/nonstick cooking spray. (9X13 can work but watch carefully.)
4 large eggs, 2 c sugar in electric mixer
1 c vegetable oil, beat together
1/2 t fine sea salt, mix.
Sprinkle in 3/4 c Dutch processed cocoa powder, mix to make batter.

Wow, binged a season of a TV show.
I stayed up late, 3 AM late, watching season 1 of The Sinner. What caught my eye initially was Matt Bomer, but unbeknownst to me he's part of season 3. After a few episodes into season 1 I stopped waiting for him to arrive and just went with the story. It was really good. - I bought a new set of dairy dishes and packed up the old set to give to Benito when he moves out. About a week ago, that set got traifed through 2 mistakes: for a chicken dinner, Rick set the table wrong, and I failed to notice. Stoneware cannot be re-kashered once it is no longer kosher. Instant Pot pad thai!
I made this pad thai recipe in my Instant Pot, basically. Short answer: I really liked it, and I can do it better next time. Longer thoughts ( under the cut. ) -

I've been using my rabbi's challah recipe (I think I wrote it out before?), and I made a flour adjustment right off the bat, to get more whole wheat and less white flour, and used a bit less sugar than called for as well. My Uncle Mark has died.
This is why I keep my phone on and by the bed. I have honestly been expecting a phone call of my G'ma Shirley's death for years; as the eldeet member of the immediate family, that was the expected call.
