As for the dress, I keep thinking it's strapless, but I can't remember. That first pattern looks really good, and you could definitely get away with having it sleeveless! So long as the fabric is flowy as well, it should look awesome! :D
I'll have a look around and see if I can find some more info for you!! I'm wondering if I can possibly make the Ewok dress before the party... I have all the fabric I just need to draft up the pattern... It's that or fixing up my PAdme dress, which would be fun to wear again! hmmm decisions :P

My sister last night suggested that it could even be strapless, but I think I'll want some sort of straps. After discussions with her I'm not going to bother with McCall's 5517 as it's got a waist seam, which will make it difficult if I decide to take it apart and redo at a later stage (to get it more accurate).
Will be going to Spotlight and Lincraft a little later today to see what they've got material wise, and maybe pick up patterns. Will definitely get the Simplicity pattern from Spotlight since they're all $5.99 at the moment!
Can't wait to see what you end up wearing. Would especially love to see the Ewok dress :D
