This is why I never, ever got anywhere near Avatar. For me, ship wars are so 2005.

It's not even ship wars, which I fully expect because they live forever.

It's gotten to the point where people expect the creators to, I dunno, go back and retool their show so that it fits their expectations of shipping. Even if their personal head-canon is a rare-pair. It's fucking bizzare and entitled.

ETA: But retooling the canon yourself to suit your needs is the fun part! The one fandom I can think of where my OTP is canon inspires only weird AUs from me because I have nothing to add to the original!

I support the ship Toph/Badass/Earthbender. It has more canon evidence than any other ship.

This show is good, but hasn't grabbed me.

Man, people DO that? That's ridiculous!
I mean I've seen some hardcore fans that think their shit is real and take it for canon, and that's fine because sometimes fandoms get stupid. But thinking that the actual creators of the show are wrong, about their show? and actually thinking they should CHANGE IT? Gah, people are ridiculous. I think someone else previously said that they must have had blinders because they never saw that on Tumblr? I must have them too, and I'm glad, I would have sent them incredulous gifs.
