Question!

I heard from the grapevine (Twitter) that LJ is IP blocking journals with gay content. I looked for links, but couldn't find anything. Rumor? Or truth? Anyone got the word?

Is that why all the spam comments I get are for weird Russian youtube 'documentaries?' Huh. Learn something new every day.

Yeah LJ is big in the old country.

That makes sense. The more I've looked into it, though, the more it seems to be speculation. I guess we'll find out as the Olympics draws nearer...

Probably rumour. I think it's just one person, and LJ has never 'blocked the IP' before - they just close your account if they deem the content contravenes the ToS.

I'd think it must be just a rumor, too. I've visited a number of LJs owned by gay men, and my own LJ tends in the same direction, and everything looks fine to me.

Yeah I think you're right. That's what I get for believing whatever I read on the internets.
