Write every day - October Edition - Day #20

Oct 20, 2015 22:00

Got an idea for a ficlet walking to the bus, crunching through a pile of leaves. So, today I tinkered a bit with that today.

Nervously waiting for feedback from the Big Bang beta. :)

I might... have finished my H/C Bingo fic I was working on? It was one of those deals where I closed the document last night, thinking I would have to add scenes and scenes more but I only added a few paragraphs and that might be it. So it feels abrupt but I'll let it simmer and see if it feels that way later.

That's a neat feeling! Congrats on maybe finishing? :)

Yay, for tinkering!

Did not make as much progress on the fic front as I wanted, but after feeling not that good about my writing and fic in general and the BB in particular (which I think was mostly not of writing related things) I'm full of ideas, because the new comics came out and I'm all energized with new canon. Also Yuletide letters! :3

And I did write my Yuletide letter which is nearly 5000 words long, so that totally counts right?

I never counted words on my yuletide letters before. :P I do think it has something to do with requesting the allowed amount of fandoms. Makes the letter just explode....

I did yet more editing, argh - but I finally got through that fic and got it posted, so there's one thing crossed off my to-do list! \o/

Again, I didn't get as far as I should have, yesterday. *sighs*

So when I was in college, I had to pass three semesters of a language to graduate. I had taken Latin in HS and that did not count. The college required a language that people actually spoke. I decided I wanted to read Les Mis in the original because I am that much of a dork, so I took French. French was not my friend. Took me five semesters to pass three semesters of French. And one of the things that almost ended me was the subjunctive. To this day I do not understand the subjunctive, except to know that "should" and "would" are part of the English formulation of this - whatever it is. Not a verb tense, but a verb something.

ANYWAY. I have noticed your fondness for the subjunctive. :) So I thought I would ramble at you. Maybe not as far as you should have gotten, but you have gone in the right direction?

Hee! That's interesting. :) The subjunctive is a mood, btw.

I did make some progress on Tuesday, thankfully. It's just the looming deadline, so everything I do feels like too little. But I'm trying my best to get this fic finished!

Well that explains all my problems! ;)

I put up my Yuletide letter and wrote a bit, otherwise it wasn't a very productive day, fandom-wise. :-(

Yuletide letters take a long time. Letter AND writing - that's awesome.
