Well, I have to say I've been in a similar situation. When you liked John F. remember, in 4th grade. Well you liked him and I still liked him secretly. I just tried not to show my feelings.
But about advide... Well maybe you should tell your friend first and see how she feels about it. Friendship comes before guys!!! About him being 17, well...

well dont EVEN do it. you remember what happened with us?? and we still arent the same :( and besides, HES 17!!! 3 years and when he turns 18, its illegal. and besides i dont think you should get envolved cuzthere will probably be ALOT of problems later on
