It's Been Four Months and Two Months....

Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future,
And time future contained in time past....
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.
Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
Into the rose-garden...T.S. Eliot, "Burnt Norton ( Read more... )

Don't sweat losing the teacups, Avus. I find mine all the time in the microwave, after I give up looking and start to make new cup.

I find just when, of course, I shouldn't sweat something, I've been made so irritable by something else, I'm even more likely to sweat it. If that makes sense. *grins*

Careful even using the headset... apparently the dangerous factor is to do with talking to somebody who isn't present in the car and doesn't know what distractions you might be facing, rather than just you needing to take your hand off the wheel to hold the phone.

And also *hugs*. Am glad to see that Jane's recovery is coming along enough for these things to be annoying to her... I kept thinking "But that means she's getting better!" too, as I read your post! What an uphill struggle, but at least things are a million times better than when she first got injured.

Perhaps you're right about cell-phoning & driving. But I've been doing it for many years, and I haven't had any close calls. I tend to drive home later at night when there isn't much traffic. If there's considerable traffic, I tend to feel uneasy & hang-up.

Yes, that constant paradox -- the better Jane gets, the more she realizes how far she's yet to come. Yesterday, for the first time, I read a posting I'd done in early April. I mentioned what Jane had done, then, that was a "first". Puts things in perspective.

But I'm still not sure I'm going to read many of them -- they feel like a bit too much, and need to be taken, if at all, in small doses.

Thanks, dear , for reading, caring & replying.

You are very kind, dear grondfic. Though I readily confess, I don't think of myself as amazing -- truly, that's not just "aw-shucks" modesty. Jane, of course, is amazing. Me, I'm just trying to keep up as best I can.

Thanks for reading, caring & commenting. And thanks for your encouragement.

I wish you a belated happy father's day!

I'm glad to read that, despite the many challenges that you both continue to face, you're able to talk and walk together. *hugs*

Thanks, dear sophierom. Yes, we continue to talk and talk regularly, and to reach out to each other in many, though mostly small & common ways. Which doesn't distress us, but seems to fit & support us best.

Hope things are going well, and thanks, too, for the Happy Father's Day.
