The news was shocking. I won't deny that. It was a huge surprise and honestly, I never think that it would even happen. However, after a whole night of digesting the news, I can say this. I am proud of them. The fact that they decided to go on hiatus instead of continuing with the remaining members is what make Arashi, Arashi. For years, they kept on saying that the five of them is Arashi and if one of them wants to quit, there will be no Arashi at all. They stay true to their words and it warmth my heart that all of them feel the same.
I met these five dorks around 10 years ago and ever since then, they have become my happy pills. Through them, I've met so many people who I would never talk with or be friend with, be it in real life or online. They changed my perception of the world and broadened my view of the world and life in general. Arashi is my happy place and it will always be.
The fact that it was Ohno who wants to quit is not surprising at all. He mentioned it here and there and honestly, it is surprising that he managed to hold on for 20 years. I wasn't angry at Ohno when I knew that he was the one who wants to quit. It's more like an understanding. In a weird way, it made sense that it came from him. The fact that they've been discussing this since 2017, it made sense that the 5x20's concert started so early. They want to make the most of their 20th anniversary - to quoting Arashi ' to show their gratitude to the fans'.
So, go on and enjoy your freedom, Arashi. I will always support you. I have come to term with the fact that I would never be able to go to your concert years ago, but I will always love you. Thank you for everything.
