I've been reading quite a lot again lately. I'm currently reading a translated book called 'Crime and Punishment' by Dostoyevsky. It seems to be from a different world to this one, as it contains several locations that clearly aren't from here, and I think it said it took place in 'Russia'. Fujiko also said that the author's name sounded Russian. I ( Read more... )

I've heard about you, I believe.
Mello.

From the books I've read, The Killer Inside Me by Jim Thompson, The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris (there is a movie adaptation of it, also excellent) and Every Secret Thing by Laura Lipmann are some of the best.

Oh? From whom? And it's a pleasure to meet you, Mello.

Those sound good. Any idea where I could find them?

If you're reading Russian literature, there are no other recommendations you need.

Is 'French' a culture from a different world like Russian then? I would be more than happy to try some.

I suppose it is. I'm Francis Bonnefoy, also known as France in that different world you speak of~

I see someone has mentioned Jules Verne already, so I'll go ahead and recommend Alexandre Dumas, Victor Hugo, Charles Baudelaire, Émile Zola, Molière and Madame de Lafayette. Those are perhaps some of the most known worldwide~

Ah, so you are another one of those countries. Do all countries have an embodiment such as yourself where you come from?

Hmm... come to think of it, I recall seeing something written by a Victor Hugo. I think it was called 'Les Miserables'. I shall note those names down for future reference.

I enjoy more or less anything, not including romance novels. They are sexual harassment.

I'm unfortunately not familiar with either of those. Care to give a summary? They sound interesting.
