33rd Wheel of Fate [Action]

[Should anyone happen to stop by at the battle dome later today, they might just catch a certain silver-haired girl in the lobby, tinkering around with the console. Upon closer inspection, ν-13 seems to be... scanning through the list of possible scenarios. It looks like she's having a difficult time picking something specific. Eventually, ( Read more... )

[There is a Robo-Ky in the lobby, and once he catches sight of Nu, there is no stopping his approach. Ever. What do you do!?]

[Right now? Nothing. She's busy trying to pick out a scenario at the moment. She does take note of the fact he's approaching her, but unless he actually addresses her, she'll remain focused on the console.]

[He will address her. He will.] LOOKING GOOD.

[And that catches her attention, which is why she's actually turning to look at him briefly.

...The strange robot she met back in November, huh. And still as confusing as ever.]

...What is it? [That compliment went completely over her head, it seems.]

[Well, once she gets booted out, she may catch a certain demon in the lobby. He's trying to be inconspicuous, but it's more that he doesn't want the humans bothering him than anything else.]

[...Well, that's someone she didn't expect to see here. Not at this time of the day, at least. Calling out to him would probably be a bad idea, though, considering there's other people here, so... instead?

She'll carefully hover over to him and lightly tap on his shoulder in an attempt to get his attention without speaking up just yet. Let's see if that works.]

[That sure does get his attention, and it's a good thing he knows it was Nu by the sounds she made before she came up to him else she'd have a sword pointed at her about now.]

Do you really need practice?

[That question just makes her smile.]

No way. But... I can still practice even if it's not needed, right? [After all, even if she considers it unnecessary, it can't hurt to train a little regardless. Not to mention that it's a nice way to pass time.]

[Despite the distance and the heavy snowfall today, Albert is in the battle dome viewing area. Sometimes it is interesting to simply see what residents do with the system, but mostly he has to see what he has to work with in upcoming drafts.

...But he raises a brow when he sees Nu making use of the battle dome, and he is soon enough watching with interest.]

[Compared to what Albert might have seen during the previous two drafts, there's two rather obvious differences in the way ν-13 is currently fighting: unlike back then, her attacks seem slower, and her blades don't seem to reach quite as far.

Despite that, though, she seems to be having very little trouble with the simulation. In fact, if anything, it almost seems just a little bit too easy for her, as the wolf-like creatures barely seem to be able to get close to her. And on the rare occasion that one does manage to get close enough to harm her before being killed... well, the resulting injuries - apparently, someone decided to remove the safeties - hardly even seem to faze her.

It probably won't be long until the simulation ends, however, as it's already been running for a while. If Albert would like to speak with the Murakumo, that'll likely be the best possible time to do so.]

[Since he cannot see what kinds of modifications Nu had made to the scenario, Albert can only watch with a certain amount of reservation; he definitely knows that the girl is strong, and that Yuber would not pay any amount of attention to her if she wasn't dangerous.

And yet he recalls a small, shy girl who quietly watched two little boys and didn't know what it meant to "play."

As the simulation seems to wind down, Albert heads for the stairs. To at least see this mechanical-armored girl as she leaves.]

[Once the simulation finally ends, ν-13 will start making her way back to the lobby, although not before deactivating her armor again. No need to keep it active while she's not involved in combat, after all.

This time, rather than immediately head for the terminal to start another simulation, she opts to idle in the lobby for a little while. As long as she doesn't spend too much time waiting, the chamber she'd been using should remain unoccupied... and even if the injuries from the simulation were mostly minor, there's certainly no harm it waiting for the Azure Grimoire's healing effect to take care of them before heading back for another round.

She probably won't notice Albert unless he addresses her - she's doesn't seem to be paying that much mind to the other people present in the battle dome right now.]

[Nel really just came by to have a look at the dome and see if she can figure out how it works, but when she notices the simulation going on she decides to have a look.

She's suitably impressed by the power Nu's demonstrating, though she's not sure what exactly it means, since she doesn't really know how strong those creatures really are. They seem like grunts to Nel. Regardless, the speed at which Nu moves is reason enough to be impressed, even for a warrior who can move at sonic speeds for short periods.]

[The wolf-like creatures really aren't all that impressive: the way they behave is much like what one would expect of a mindless beast, simply attacking anything they stumble across. Hardly a troublesome foe, but they do make for effective target practice, as they move relatively quickly themselves.

...Target practice seems to be the main reason the silver-haired girl has chosen this particular simulation, actually, if the fact that she seems to be focused on far enough away from the creatures to volley blades at them is any indication. And for someone who looks so... harmless aside from her armor, she's doing surprisingly well no less.]

[It isn't too difficult to figure out the point of this practice. Nel starts amusing herself by trying to predict which one of the critters will get picked off by the next attack. She's actually pretty good at it.

She's never been one to judge power by appearance (heck, look at herself), but she's still surprised at how easily she's doing this. Either the wolves are frailer than they look, or she's got power to go with the speed.]

[It's likely the latter. The wolves aren't exactly frail - the mutations from seithr exposure have made them stronger than one might expect. But when your opponent is someone literally made for combat... you can hardly call that a fair match up, really.

Eventually, once she manages to catch a small group of them in her line of sight, ν-13 will attempt something else. Rather than simply use the eight blades hovering at her back to attack, or volleying blades at the creatures, she'll call up a portal in front of her, in line with the group. Moments later, it launches an entire barrage of blades at them - about 20 in total. A bit overkill, maybe, but with how rarely she gets to use this particular move, practicing it a bit can't hurt.]
