37th Wheel of Fate [Action]

[Today is a fairly busy day for the thirteenth Murakumo.

It's been more than a week since her own run-in with Kusanagi - enough time that she's almost completely recovered, thanks to acuitas's healing leaving her with only the blood loss and one minor complication to deal with. Most of that time, she'd spent resting or trying to occupy herself with other ( Read more... )

[Giles gets to the Battle Dome that day a while after Nu does. And, most unfortunately, all the chambers are occupied at the moment. So, nothing for it but to take a seat in the observation area and refamiliarize himself as best he can with the manual...

...at least until he catches sight of Mu going up against the green haired man. That will...probably occupy his attention for a while.]

[Action] - Of course! awakenedchaos June 30 2011, 21:15:02 UTC
[It's certainly an interesting fight he'll find himself treated to, at least. The green-haired man in question seems to fight using a pair of butterfly knives at close-range, and some sort of snake-like chain at long-range, while ν-13 seems to be focused on remaining at a distance, summoning swords to launch in his directions. But what also stands out is the setting: it bears some semblance to an aerial port of sorts at night, a light drizzle adding a slightly bleak atmosphere to the place.

Sometimes, the swords and the chain cancel each other out. At other times, they don't, and the two combatants dodge to the side or jump... or, when they don't, they find themselves greeted with a chain of followup attacks in the form of one of the following:

-When the sword connects, the follow-up consists of more swords followed by a row of them shooting up to catch the man off-guard and launch him into the air, generally followed by either another volley of swords or by the Murakumo jumping and spinning to slice at him with the eight blades at ( ... )

[This is actually the first look Giles has gotten at Nu's fighting style. And a couple of minutes in, he'll...actually start taking some very quick notes on what he's seeing. He focuses largely on Nu's tactics, having no idea who the green haired man is or even if he's in Luceti.

So, yes, he is definitely enjoying the show. Or, well, enjoying might not be the right word. But you've got his attention, v-13.]

[After a while, the fight slowly shifts in the Murakumo's favor - until, eventually, instead of following one of her blades with another, she disappears and reappears in front of her opponent, grabbing on to her opponent with both arms while she speaks.]

Releasing Murakumo unit. Deploying dimensional interference force field.

[She lets go, but the green-haired man nonetheless remains locked in place - part of whatever ν-13 is doing seems to involve something that keeps the opponent from moving away after she grabs them. Either way, her eight blades start spinning as she continues to speak, eventually launching upwards as she raises her right hand.]

O silver blade forged in the depths of the beyond, heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way...

...Perish.[And with that last word, she lowers her hand again, sending a gigantic blade crashing into her opponent...

...and ending the simulation. With that, she'll deactivate her armor and head back to the main hall for the time being.]

[Action] | Today is a day for uncomfortable meetings with Murakumos semper_cogitans June 30 2011, 20:56:48 UTC
[When Nu swings by the library to grab those books, she might spot a certain little scientist - perhaps blearily remembered from one very uncomfortable day near the fountain - sitting at a small table in the library. Unlike the books she might be concealing the contents of, his are an eclectic mix of topics - turtle anatomy stands out, but there are also several books on general vertebrate anatomy, medical practises and even a few history texts. (He's still trying to become more familiar with other cultures.) The most interesting thing is the nanocomputer propped in the scientist's lap - a stark contrast to all the books, it's currently projecting reams of data while he occasionally consults one of the books. He's so engrossed in writing his reports that he doesn't notice the silver-haired Murakumo - but she's not quite so encumbered.

... Feel like talking to this strange person who wanted to help you so long ago, Nu?]

[Not... quite. She really just wants to find the right books and get them back to her apartment - there's something she wants to do with them, so she'd rather not waste too much time while picking them up.

ν-13 does take note of Robert's presence, however - hasn't she seen him somewhere before? But before she can linger on that question, her attention is drawn not to any of the books sitting at the table, but the nanocomputer the scientist has with him.]

...? [That's... not the kind of technology you see often in a place like this. Hopefully Robert doesn't mind having someone staring in his direction too much.]

[Well, the nanocomputer does stand out, and Robert is used to - albeit uncomfortable of - the attention it tends to bring in a public setting. But eventually he looks up. And notices Nu.

The moment he does, something like fear creeps into his expression. His last encounter with Nu was about fifteen different kinds of bad, and it was the first time he nearly died in Luceti. But... but it wasn't Nu, doing that. And even if he remembers what Giles said about what Nu was capable of... well, Giles was capable of killing too, wasn't he? So was Don. And even if Link had seemed like a nice person... well, Robert knew that looks could be very deceiving in his case. After all, Noel smiled at him too. And then she killed Giles.

... In the end, he nods anxiously in Nu's direction.]

... I-is... is... th-there something you... y-you need, Nu...?

[His anxiety doesn't bother ν-13 - not visibly, anyway. To be fair, she's focused on the nanocomputer right now, and she doesn't even do as much as glance in his direction in response to the statement. Her attention seems to be on nothing but the machine, apparently.

She'll answer after another moment passes.]

...Unidentified machine detected. [Computers exist in her world, but none of this particular type. ...You could say she's a little curious about it, if it weren't for the fact that she's still being as emotionless as always.]

[Welp, here's another visitor for the Battle Dome. Oh...there's that girl with the fat armor. Seeing as all the chambers are in use, he's content to sit by the sidelines and popcorn.gif observe.

...He also realizes by watching her, that she could probably kick his ass ten times over normally. /sob]

[Enjoy the show, Amiti. It looks like it's not going to last that long - ν-13 is cutting through her enemies fairly quickly this time, and there's only a very small group. Not a particularly great simulation for someone like her, this one.

The soldiers she's fighting this time might just look a little familiar to him, though...]

OH WHAT THE HELL? That definitely gets his attention. He won't butt in...but oh man, does he want to say something. Or ask something. Like why aren't Waters of Life dropping everywhere.]

[If he wants to say something, he won't have to wait much; before long, the last of the soldiers is going to go down with a carefully aimed swipe using the eight blades hovering at the Murakumo's back, and the simulation ends.]

...Termination of targets, confirmed. Now switching to standby mode.

[Maybe next time, she should either figure out how to raise the number of enemies, or she should just use a different simulation altogether. A single group of these guys is practically a waste of time aside from them giving a lot of EXP, anyway. For now, ν-13 will deactivate her armor, followed by her heading back to the main hall to set up a different simulation.]

[There may not be any late fees in Luceti's library, but if Nu is going to take those books she'll still need to check them out, for records sake. And who should be doing a shift at the library at the time but Bernkastel. But hey, it's been close to a year since that one time she threw a cat from the top of CH6, so bygones be bygones right?]

[...

...

...

...Well. This is... not someone ν-13 expected to see here, of all places. Or at all, for that matter - they haven't exactly interacted since that experiment that had so many strange effects. But while she doesn't really have any positive data pertaining to Bernkastel, there isn't that much in the way of negative data, either. Just that one instance of throwing a feline out of a window on the top floor of one of the community buildings. That's not quite enough to lead to her being marked as a threat just yet.

As such, she's just going to quietly move to check out the small stack of books she picked up, remaining silent for now. It's not like this has ever caused any problem in the past, so... this time shouldn't differ much, even if someone else is handling the current shift.]

[Bern doesn't look up at Nu from her own book, which happens to be a mystery novel, until she hears the sound of someone drawing closer. Once she notices the girl she takes her bookmark and closes the book with it, pushing it to the side.]

It's been a while. How have things been?

[action] awakenedchaos July 2 2011, 16:07:03 UTC
...Irrelevant. [Blunt, but her intention is to simply check the books out and return to her apartment so she can go back to what she intended to do. She's already spent way too much time simply idling around here, so she doesn't see a need to spend even more time on another conversation.

...

If Bern happens to be paying attention to the books ν-13 is carrying, they all seem to be focused on the same subject: music, strangely enough. There even seem to be a few song books in that small stack of books.]

[While Nu is on her search for some very particular books, Caesar is hanging around the library looking for something as well. What he's looking into is easier to distinguish simply by its appearance-maps. He might be holding onto one or two when he spots Nu, and he stops. Hmm.

Caesar is... wary. The only "casual" run-in he's had with Nu (that he's aware of, anyway) was during that reality shift and it was... weird. She wasn't actually his childhood friend. She couldn't even really be called a friend at all, and while it wasn't that important, he almost isn't sure how he's supposed to regard her. She's dangerous, after all.

...maybe it would be best to see how she reacts first, if she reacts at all.]

[She won't - not unless Caesar does something that would draw her attention. Right now, ν-13's attention seems to be focused solely on trying to find the books she's looking for, with her occasionally even hovering upwards to reach some of the higher shelves.

...She doesn't really seem to be having a lot of luck with her search just yet, though, if the fact that she hasn't managed to find even a single book worth taking a closer look at so far is any indication. Maybe she should try one of the other shelves...]

[Caesar waits a moment or two before speaking up. Unsurprisingly, when he does so, his voice is very casual... and probably uninterested.]

Looking for something?

[Well, that's a voice she recognizes. And that combined with that question seems to be enough to draw ν-13's attention. She's... not really picking up on that uninterested tone right now.]

...Affirmative. [It... feels a bit weird to speak to him again, when the last time they did so was during that memory-altering experiment. With Giles, she could focus on the mess with Kusanagi instead, but right now... that would be a little odd, wouldn't it?]
