39th Wheel of Fate [Action]

[Those passing through the plaza today might find themselves noticing something rather... odd placed near the fountain.

Apparently, someone - presumably the Malnosso - has decided to place a treasure chest next to the fountain. And not just any: this particular treasure chest seems to be large enough that it could hold quite the large amount of ( Read more... )

[Well, originally Leonhardt had planned to just ignore the treasure chest because the last thing he wanted was more people to see him in this annoying outfit.

But then he could hear the tell tale sound of breathing and well, if the Malnosso decided to put someone in there, he should at least have the decency to open it so whoever was in there could get out and wouldn't suffocate.

He could see Nu in there, but since she was still asleep for now, he's going to leave her alone. He knows very well that some people react in very paranoid ways to the presence of a stranger. So he'll be stepping away for now. Of course, the lengthy and heavy gown he's stuck in now will impede a quick retreat, but he will still attempt it.]

[Bah, she's dealt with worse than being stuck in a closed treasure chest. She's not going to suffocate that quickly.

When Leonhardt opens the chest, though, he might actually notice that the girl has something with her - a black sling bag that she's practically clinging to at the moment. That said, there's no immediate reaction from her... but she is a light sleeper, and suddenly being greeted by light combined with the sound of the chest opening is still enough to push her a little bit closer to regaining her consciousness.

...And sure enough, when Leonhardt starts to step away, he might just hear a quiet, but machine-like voice as ν-13 murmurs to herself, slowly waking from her slumber.]

Loading... loading... loading... [As she says that, she carefully sits up, but doesn't quite take notice of the man's presence just yet. Give her a moment to finish booting up and she definitely will, though.]

[Just because he's stuck being somewhat defenseless right now doesn't mean his ability to sense things is screwed up too. He definitely hears that and it is not exactly normal sounding for someone that looked like a human. Quite interesting, really. Though in this annoying state he's in if she's dangerous that could be a problem. He's just far too used to dangerous mechanical creatures to not be wary.

But still, if she's awakening he probably should see if she needs assistance instead of stepping away. So he'll stop and keep a wary eye on her. She could be dangerous, but she might not be. He can definitely tell she's far more powerful than what he's used to with such creatures.]

...Complete. Analyzing current situation... [Still muttering to herself, it seems. Though after she says that, there's a short pause, as if she really were analyzing something. This one definitely doesn't seem to be human despite how she looks.]

...Potential threat detected. [It's only after these words that she finally looks in Leonhardt's reaction, though so far, she's still doing little more than that - she's still merely sitting up as she speaks.]

Who... are you? [As far as he can tell, he seems to be human... if one dressed in clothes not normally worn by those of the same gender as him. But hey, she's dealt with stranger things.

Though her voice is mostly devoid of emotion, there is a small but audible hint of caution in it. It's not outright hostility, at least, but combined with her words, it's pretty clear that she's on guard at the moment.]

[Someone else who happens to not be affected will surely stumble upon this sight. And it's a sight that would ping him mostly due to his own twisted perception of greed, and he'll surely cautiously approach. With one hand on one of his pistols, he's simply keeping an eye out for a trap at this point.

Once he hears the breathing coming from the chest, he decides against opening it. For now. Because he doesn't know what could be in there, and with the current experiment that he heard going around, it could be anything from something harmless to an accursed monster.

So what's he gonna do? Kick the side of the chest and jump back.]

[And that actually prompts a reaction from the one inside the chest. Sure, she'd been sleeping until now, but it's damn hard to sleep through someone kicking the chest you happen to be resting in. Thanks for that, Remington.

For a moment, he might hear what almost sounds a little like some sort of startled yelp - one that sounds strangely mechanical, yet also clearly feminine. The voice in question might actually sound a bit familiar to him, considering that he's spoken to Noel... although it doesn't quite sound like her due to that mechanical tone.

The words that follow mere moments later don't sound much like something she'd normally say, either, for that matter.]

Unidentified threat detected outside of current location. Processing... Current conditions determined to be unsuitable for combat. Now attempting relocation... [And true to the voice's words, shortly after saying that, the chest slowly opens, revealing the silver-haired Murakumo inside ( ... )

[Trying to move to hide or acting inconspicuous would be a grand idea that one would probably try to do after hearing those words. Especially the part about combat and threats. It certainly sounds like it could start a fight. Which is something Remington does not want.

Too bad he just stands there, staring at the girl rising from the chest.] What in the...?

[It would be a good idea. But regardless of what Remington is doing (or in this case, not doing), the silver-haired Murakumo will, after opening the chest and standing up, slowly hover out of it, landing on her toe tips. And now that she's actually outside, Remington might notice that she's actually carrying something with her - a simple black sling bag.]

...Relocation complete. Attempting to locate target... Processing...

[As she finishes saying that, she begins to look around, clearly looking for the one who just kicked her chest. There is still a little bit of time to hide, if need be - though who knows, maybe it's possible to clear up the situation before it escalates? It's hard to know for sure, but it might be worth a try. Or not. Who knows.]

[Mega Man's walking through the square, casually, just going to the store. When he spots that treasure chest. Granted, he knows about the experiment going on. But... honestly, his Digger's mentality of finding treasure overrides his caution for experiments. After all, it's been harmless so far, right?]

All right! Treasure!

[Like a dope, he runs right over to the treasure chest...]

[...Not the normal kind of treasure, that's for sure. No, rather, he'll find himself faced with a sleeping, silver-haired girl... albeit one that's clinging to a black sling bag as if her life depended on it or something. What exactly is she doing in there? Who knows. The Malnosso have a weird sense of humor sometimes, after all.

He... may want to be a little cautious about this one, though. She's a light sleeper - odds are high that she'll wake up soon, now that she's actually exposed to light, not to mention that the sound of the chest opening likely didn't go unnoticed, either. And some people react pretty badly when woken, don't they? Especially if the one responsible is a complete stranger...]

[...Huh? It's... a girl? Mega Man starts back when he realizes this, but quickly looks in. He didn't get a look at her for long to even see if she was breathing. Honestly, the thought doesn't occur to him that Nu might be at all dangerous, just that she might be in danger.]

Oh no... hey, are you all right?

[He... looks really worried for her, at least.]

[Yeager's personally managed to escape the event--and has greeted the whole thing with more amusement than anything--but all the same, he's cautious as he stands over the chest. He catches the sound of the breathing as he bends down to inspect it and figures that he should probably let out whoever's inside, but he doesn't want to bring any trouble on himself, either.

He straightens, glancing around, and lets his hand alight on the top. When no crazed individual jumps down from a roof to attack him, he looks for a lock. Finding none, he lifts the lid, curious as to why anyone would be in there.]

[Perhaps the Malnosso simply have an odd sense humor, assuming they're the ones responsible for this. There was that one instance of someone who arrived here taped to a ceiling...

Nonetheless, though, the person inside the chest is definitely no New Feather. She isn't clad in the normal attire for them, and that aside, she's actually carrying something with her: a black sling bag. ...How odd.

She's not quite waking up just yet, but it's likely that she will very soon - this one's a pretty light sleeper, after all.]

[Hmm. He does have to wonder what's in that bag. He must tread lightly, however. He takes a step back and ventures a greeting to try and wake her up.]

Hello?

[That combined with the other two factors actually yields a reaction from the girl - in fact, it looks like at this point, that's enough to wake her, though before actually addressing Yeager, she seems to mutter something to herself, her voice oddly mechanical for someone who seems to be human.]

Loading... Loading... Loading... Loading... All systems: normal. [And after a short pause:] ...Potential threat detected at current location.

[It's only after finishing speaking that she actually looks in Yeager's direction, still holding the bag close. There's no hostility in her voice, but there is a little bit of audible caution.]

Who...? [ν-13's fairly certain that she doesn't recognize him - neither from seeing him within the village itself in passing, nor thanks to the journals. A New Feather, maybe?

...Just how long was she gone, anyway...?]

[Nu, why would you be in a treasure chest. That's just so unfair!

...or the best thing ever. She might be a prince right now, but some things never change. Common sense be damned, Nami is descending on that chest with glee and flinging it open.]

[Thank the Malnosso, Nami. At least they didn't drop her off in your closet or something?

That said, when Nami flings the chest open, she'll likely notice pretty quickly that the treasure chest doesn't contain any actual treasure. Rather, all it contains is a certain silver-haired Murakumo who currently seems to be asleep while clinging to a black sling bag.

...Caution is probably advisable in this case, considering what happened the last time these two met in person.]
