Becuase I'm bored...

There's a catalog called Signals that my mom gets every once in a while in the mail. While looking through it tonight, I was inspired by a few different plaques and pillows... They always have such pretty/cute sayings. I decided to share them with you:

"Silences make the real conversations between friends. Not the saying, but the never needing to say is what counts." - Margaret Lee Runbeck

In the quiet of this day, may you know the greatness of your spirit and may your hopes fly on the wings of possibility.

As the days go by each of us slowly gives away little pieces of who we are... We give of ourselves to family, to friends, to people we don't even know... But always inside... We keep a special little piece... Until one day, in one given moment, we know to whom it belongs. And in giving away this piece of ourselves, we are now complete.

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo

I ran up the door, closed the stairs, said my pajamas and put on my prayers, turned off my bed and hymped into the light... All because you kissed me goodnight.

"And if I go, while you're still here... Know that I still love on, vibrating to a different measure, behind a thin veil you cannot see through. You will not see me, so you must have faith. I wait the time when we can soar together again, both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to the fullest. And when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart .....I will be there." - Colleen Hitchcock

Irene came into work today to get her last paycheck and there I was, sitting at her desk, with her old things, and all of her papers torn off the bulletin board. I felt so small when she saw what I had done to her area. Not that I had any REASON to feel guilty, but honestly... how awkward! She stayed for a little while and talked to everyone (except for me) and sort of just politely ignored my presence. Which is all well and good to me, considering I didn't have much to say to her. The days are going by SO quickly now that I'm doing her job and mine. The next thing I know it's lunch time, and then it's time to go home. Which is nice... no more dragging days. I was getting so tired of those.

My mother bought me this absolutely adorable little wall-hanging that says 'I see the moon, the moon sees me... God bless the moon, and god bless me.' when she was in Vermont this past weekend. It has special meaning to me, because when I was little, my grandmother, mother and father always said that to me. She said she saw it and thought of me. Of course, it was supposed to be a birthday present (since it's on the 23rd of this month) but she couldn't wait. As she never can. I love her for it, though.

and here is the
my mother, mike and i had a conversation not too long ago about porn. of course, my mother working at a video rental store, she rents a lot of porn. we've always been a very open and honest family anyway, so she mentions how my aunt (her sister) had given her a box of porn that she just 'didn't use anymore' for my mother to have. my mom - not the big porn watcher - said she hid it up in the closet of her bedroom, never to watch it. i jokingly said "MOM! seriously?! do you mind if i check some out?!" and she laughed. well... while they were gone this weekend i decided to go check out some of the videos. I brought a chair from the kitchen into her room and took some movies downstairs.

well... I'm an idiot and left the chair in the bedroom next to the closet. My mom has been home since last night, but just now out of nowhere - with a huge grin on her face - asks me "So Jess... how come there was a kitchen chair in my bedroom in front of the closet?" And my stepfather says "So anything good on television?"

-dies of complete embarassment-

I honestly have to stop babbling. You know what everyone can do? A very cheap and cool gift to give me for my birthday. Go to 4bumperstickers.com and make me a bumper sticker with a saying or quote you think fits me. They're cheap! And I'll love you forever. Or hell, just TELL me what you think I should have as a bumper sticker and I'll make one myself. Cheapskate.
