I only got to meet Betty that one time when you were here for the conference, but what I do remember is her uter calmnes at tha tbusy Mexican restaurant, when we were int eh car going back to our place, her calm adn polite wanderings around the living room and kitchen. I remmeber seh wanted to go upstairs but when you told her not to, she didn't. She also never asked to be petted, but when any of us did pet her she was happy to receive the affection. Eilish has gbotten better about this as she has grown up, but she still doesn't like to be sniffed or licked, and she is leery about being approached. Betty never did that; she just sat there and let Eilish touch her. I remember her beautiful coat-I love the black lab coat, and her sweet little ears and that wet cold nose. Even though she was one of the quietest, calmest dogs I've ever seen, she has her own personality and I won't forget her.

I, too, only met Betty once when you were here for work, but I remember having dinner and margaritas with you at Alero, and how calm and composed she was. I had Stoney then, and I remember how amazed I was when the dogs basically ignored each other, Stoney was sucha social boy and always had a difficult time with dog distractions, and I remember thinking she was a good influence on him!
I'm glad she's going to have such a good retirement! It sounds like a great situation for her! Good luck, Betty! Enjoy your retirement, you deserve it! :)

I couldn't even imagine how difficult that must be, to let go of your partner, of someone who's become a part of you and your family. But I know it's for the best, and since you're hand-picking who will be taking her, I'm sure she'll be happy. I hope you two get to see each other when things have calmed down, though, as I'm sure it'll cheer you both up. Will you be staying in contact with the couple to see how Betty is getting on?
