1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Spent close to eight months living outside of New England.

Did something wildly inappropriate that I can only get away with because I'm young.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I actually stayed really focused on school last year because I had no other choice. I really want to try to stay organized this year. I know that's rather insignificant, but it's something that would be beneficial to me.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?? no.
4. Did anyone close to you die? my kittycat man died from a blood clot. he was only 7. toby feels incomplete without him.

Being so successful during my co-op at Hopkins and getting into the honors program at school.

I was a real shitty friend the latter half of the year.
Also dragging Sam along for a little while wasn't fair to him.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I didn't really make any exciting purchases this year.

My nurse manager is a truly great person. She's always looking out for everyone while successfully running a busy busy unit. I'll be lucky if I ever have another nurse manager like her again.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Just everything with Sam. I know break-ups aren't easy, but it seemed as though we were speaking totally different languages to each other for months.
14. Where did most of your money go?
I've wasted more money this year. It's disgusting. A lot of it went to euro currency exchange.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I got excited about going on Spring Break and going to Spain.
Moving to Baltimore made me nervous.
I'm really really excited about moving back to Boston after being away from my roommates for so long. As silly as this sounds, 616 feels most like home.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
"The Con" by Tegan and Sara will forever remind me of marathon study sessions in the library with Martina.
"Me gustas tu" will remind me of Spain
"Whatever u like" by TI will forever remind me of Baltimore.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
I said I was disappointed last year and that feeling continues. The disappointment has to do with the same person, but for almost the opposite reason. Funny how that can work.
I'm happier because I finally did what's best for me. As liberating as that feels, I also realize that I have a lot to learn.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? I started listening to a lot of Mirah in 2008.
28. What did you want and get? independence and closure.
29. What did you want and not get?
I had certain expectations for things and when they didn't happen I was disappointed. Still that disappointment has lead to closure, so I guess it's making everything easier.

I don't even remember the movies that I saw. I thought Religolous was funny and The Dark Night was good.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

An easier semester.

ever since spain i've been wearing sweaters over everything.
34. What kept you sane?
Shaffer and I managed to literally spend every moment together since late July and we never reached a breaking point, we went on countless hot dates, and managed to crack each other up daily. I don't know what I would have done without her.
Martina also was the best study partner a nursing major could ask for.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
It wasn't until I watched an A&E biography on Obama that I switched from being a Hilary supporter. After seeing that I was sold.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008?
I think I've been learning a lot about myself in relation to others. not to be confused with relationships. This is stupid, but I started a lot of self-discovery when I moved to Baltimore and I think it's going to continue through 2009.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year?It was a hot and sultry afternoon, sometime at the end of June, we had collapsed ourselves in the shade somewhere, to conclude our love affair, but it was too damn hot to speak that much, it felt easier to touch, so we forgot to fall apart that day, and the next day.
